Good to know

Common questions.

Does my iPhone app need a privacy policy?

Yes. Apple requires a privacy policy URL for every app on the App Store, even if the app collects no data at all. You add it in App Store Connect under App Privacy.

Is this generator free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and your answers never leave your browser. Copy the result or download it as an HTML or Markdown file.

Where do I host the policy?

Any public web page works: your app's website, a GitHub Pages site, or a Notion page. Download the HTML file to upload it as its own page, or paste the Markdown into your site.

Does the policy match Apple's App Privacy labels?

It covers the same ground: accounts, where data is stored, purchases, analytics, crash reports, ads, and device permissions. Check that your App Privacy answers in App Store Connect say the same thing.

Is this legal advice?

No. It's a starting point in plain language, based on the policies we use for our own apps. If your app handles health, financial, or children's data, have a lawyer review it.

Need a website for your app?

We design and build app websites, support pages, and the apps themselves. Flip Tracker’s site is one of ours.
